Some of the most ferocious and feared soldiers of the Second World War were members of the Waffen-SS. They were ferocious in their fighting and actions and often they were executed and shot immediately after they were captured. For the Allies, the SS were a dangerous enemy, and they had a long history of war crimes. But at many times the Allies did not take prisoners of the SS.
