I'm now a bestseller on the buzzy newsletter platform Substack. The bestseller badge means I'm a top-performing writer with hundreds of paid subscribers. It's not a checkmark you can buy. You can only earn it by gaining paid subscribers. There are three types of badges. White (hundreds of paid subscribers), orange (thousands of paid subscribers), and purple (tens of thousands of paid subscribers). My white badge shows that it's possible to earn money with newsletter subscriptions. 100 readers support me and my writing. They like and trust me which feels so good and motivating to keep my part-time business going.

I'm not an overnight success although I started offering a paid plan in January 2024 and you could think it only took three weeks to reach this milestone. On Substack, I now have the white bestseller badge, meaning I have hundreds of paid subscribers. To be more precise, I now have more than 100 paid subscribers. You get the bestseller badge once you reach 100 paid subscribers.
