Just moments after watching FDNY Engine 46 and Ladder 27 go on a run for a multiple dwellings call at 230 Echo Place, I decided to walk a couple of blocks down Washington Avenue to 173rd Street, where we see Rescue 3 as they get toned out to go on the same run, which at this point has been upgraded to an All Hands 10-75. The call itself was for fire in the basement of a residential building with multiple dwellings. First out the door is Rescue 3. Rescue 3 is a 2011 Ferrara. Enjoy the immense amount of Q as they go on their run. Once Rescue 3 leaves, we see an ambulance hustling down Washington Avenue. I believe this ambulance was in fact responding to the same call, but I could be wrong. After about a minute, we see RAC 3 depart for the call. RAC 3 is Rehab and Comfort. They carry a variety of replenishing fluids, such as water and Gatorade, to supplement the cooler tanks carried by companies and provide a place for firefighters to take a breather during an operation, and are staffed by a single light-duty firefighter. Behind the RAC is the Collapse Rescue Unit, which was not needed for this call. As a side note, by the time the responding companies arrived at the scene, the fire had been knocked down by the fire suppression system of the building (sprinklers), but a couple of lines were stretched nonetheless. Enjoy the sight of the rigs responding, as well as the Federal Q. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on September 24th, 2013.
