Yes, they gave up 35 points...but it’s the little plays within the course of the game that are difference makers and allowed them the opportunity to win.

On this session of Studyball, we are going to talk about the Kansas City Chiefs defense. Yes, they didn’t play perfect and played against an offense that made a bunch of plays, with a quarterback who played a great football game. That doesn’t mean they couldn’t play better defense and make critical plays that probably a lot of people didn’t see. I always say there is hidden yardage in every single game. Plays that get you extra yards. Whether that is making great moves in open space or making a great tackle 1 on 1.

There are a bunch of hidden yards in the course of a game that lead to less to less points or a punt in certain situations. I felt Kansas City had a good plan and their linebackers played really well in the game. To be able to take back some of the hidden yardage in the course of the game too.

It doesn’t mean you stop the other team completely, shutdown another good offense. But it’s the hidden yards in the game that come back and lead to wins! The things to prevent, the big plays, the moment you stop from building. I thought the Kansas City Chiefs played really great defense and that’s just a handful of looks on how they saved some huge opportunities by the Eagles. And maybe saving those huge opportunities is what lead to giving the ball back to Patrick Mahomes and allowing him to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to another Super Bowl. #kansascitychiefs #superbowl #nfl
