Who doesn't dream about being back in their childhood room? Safe from all the trappings that come with being a responsible adult. Well now you can, and it doesn't require a fancy, expensive 360-degree camera. All you need is an iPhone 12/13 pro ( Some iPads have the LIDAR hardware as well) a PC and a Meta (Oculus) Quest 2 ( If you want the total immersion experience)

There are a couple of easy steps. The hardest part was installing Unity. Luckily AndyHD has a great tutorial on installing Unity and the Oculus Integration Assets from the Occulus Asset Store (*Very important) Please watch his video on the Unity installation here:    • How to make your Entire House in VR

Scan your room with your phone and the Polycam app
Send the OBJ file to youe email and save it on the PC
Open Unity and drag in the (3) files that make up the OBJ file
Drag over an Oculus Camera from the Oculus Assets
Drag over the left and right touch controller prefabs ( To be honest I don’t think I did this correctly, but for what I was trying to do it worked)
Save and export ( build) the project to a folder on the PC ( First time takes a while)
Open Sidequest and connect the Oculus Quest to the computer with a USB C cable. Transfer the file to the Quest.
Put on the Quest headset and open your project.
Look/walk around your scanned scene.
