If I had known what I know today in 2022 about trucks back 10 years ago, then I probably would have owned 2-3 fewer trucks over the last decade and saved myself a lot of time and $$$! Today I'm going to share the inside scoop on a custom/special order 2021 RAM 3500 1 ton dually that I spec'd to be the ultimate fifth wheel towing truck out there. With a max payload just north of 5,000 lbs and a max towing capacity of just over 34,000 lbs, this RAM 3500 is no slouch. It is a rare build with a combination of unique options that aren't typically found in the same package. From the exterior's Granite Crystal Metallic paint job featuring the Night Edition package (blacked out) to the interior's rare bench seat configuration and 8.4-inch Uconnect (vs more popular 12-inch) to the business end's high output in-line 6 cylinder Cummins 6.7L diesel engine with air suspension...this truck is truly one of a kind and purpose built to be the ultimate fifth wheel towing truck. I painstakingly mulled over the configuration and options for months till I settled on this unique build presented in today's video. I've owned it almost a year now, and I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever on it!

At the end of the video I'll share what I've learned over the last decade by recommending which type of truck you should buy depending on what type of weight you plan to tow. I'll cover everything from 1/2 ton gasser trucks to 3/4 ton SRW trucks to 1 ton diesel DRW trucks, applying to all makes and models from Ford, GM, Chevrolet, and RAM. My hope is these tips will save you money if you're looking to buy or order a new 2022 truck, or even purchase a secondhand 2021 model year or older.
