What makes a good part one to a two part movie? Films like Dune, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 are some of the most notable examples, but even franchises NOT based on books are trying to double dip. So let's evaluate these films in the Harry Potter, Twilight, and Dune franchises to figure out, not only if they're good movies, but more importantly if they are good first parts in two part stories.

We'll be analyzing each of these movies and scoring them on a scale of 1 to 10 across four categories in order to determine their strengths and weaknesses, as well as what Hollywood should learn for their successes and failures.
