As a combat-wounded veteran of the Army, Sen. Tammy Duckworth understands the human impact of military service. During the 2023 War Horse Symposium, she explained how a combination of investigative reporting, advocacy, and political willpower helped the PACT Act become law. In doing so, millions of veterans subjected to toxic exposures during their military service became eligible for VA healthcare.

The War Horse News hosted the conversation on April 6, 2023, at The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, in partnership with The University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy.
