The IDF is "poised and prepared for further aggression", IDF spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Lerner has told Sky News.

He said last night's defence of Israel was a "unity of reasonable players against the diabolical plan of Iran".

Lieutenant-Colonel Lerner added: "This is a very, very serious act against Israel. What actually happened with Israel, our aerial defences, the abilities of the US military, the British military and air force and French air force - a very, very clear message to Iran that this just won't go. Together, united, we saved Israeli lives."

But he said a seven-year-old girl was critically injured and is "fighting for her life this morning".
