House Republicans said earlier this week they want to hold multi-pronged, multi-committee investigations into some of the ongoing campus protests, citing a rise in antisemitism.

This comes in the wake of President Biden addressing the unrest, reiterating support of free speech and peaceful protests while also condemned violence.

Rep. Steve Scalise stated, “We're asking all of our committee chairs to look into the billions of federal taxpayer dollars that go to these universities.” Scalise stressed the importance of a safe learning environment for college students saying, “If these presidents won't provide that safe environment, then those university presidents need to go. They need to resign.”
