The next era of South American Sim Racing began in the MAX Arena with the 2023 Campeanato Sudamericano Esports Champion being crowned. With the support of Banco BRB, Max Arena, CBA, Extreme SimRacing, Simagic. 11 sim-rigs took center stage inside the MAX Arena for South America’s top sim racers to battle on @iRacingOfficial.

11 drivers representing 6 different countries qualified for the 2023 Campeanato Sudamericano Esports through time attack qualifiers on the iRacing platform utilizing the official Formula 4 car. The online qualifiers then went head-to-head on stage, across 3 20-minute races at the world famous Interlagos, home of the Brazilian GP.

It wasn’t just top sim racers, but personalities from around Motorsports kicked off the event with 2 All-Star Races - with names as varied as ex-F1 drivers such as Nelson Piquet Jr to top sim racers such as Neto Nascimento entered. The fierce action showcased highlighted the ability of the FIA F4 car to deliver close racing and setting high expectations for the competition.

It was mostly domination from Luis Tavares - he set the tone early by grabbing pole position, and after 2 consecutive victories, even a full invert of the grid for the final race could not stop him from being crowned the 2023 Campeanato Sudamericano Esports Champion. After a difficult battle, Joseph Figueroa clinched second place in the championship, with Alex Popow Jr settling for 3rd place.
