Ontario Tech Engineering students enrolled in the Fluid Mechanics course have the opportunity to visit our state-of-the-art ACE Climatic Wind Tunnel facility to view a live race car demonstration to see how the content they are learning is put into practice. This year’s students were able to examine a 2020 Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo and witness the air flow over the vehicle with a smoke wand and measure the lift and drag forces on the vehicle at speeds of 180 km/hr. The ACE Climatic Wind Tunnel facility here at Ontario Tech is a valuable tool for our engineers to learn more deeply and understand how to apply what they are learning to real world examples.
