The last-ever interview Thomas Markle is likely to give. He wants to make a last appeal for reconciliation with Meghan and a chance to meet the grandchildren he so wishes to see before he dies. He would also like it to be part of a process by which the Sussexes also make peace with Harry's father and brother. Thomas, who has recovered his speech following a severe stroke, says that he has shared grandchildren with the King of England for a whole year and neither has seen their grandchildren.

Both he and King Charles have been described as hardworking, shy and grumpy at times, and he is willing to acknowledge the fact this may not have helped solve the situation. But, despite being heartbroken that his daughter failed to make contact or ask about him in the wake of his stroke, he is keen to reach out if only for one conversation - in whichever format she chooses.
