When it comes to golf course water usage in Southern Nevada, it's a fact that dozens of courses have removed turf and replaced it with desert-friendly landscaping in the name on conservation. Over 900 acres of golf course grass have been removed over the last 2 decades, enough for 9 additional courses. New golf course construction is prohibited and golf courses use about 5% of our water supply while use from residents accounts for about 60%.
