Just this week, we are hearing that Congress has pivoted back to focusing on Joe Bidens massive social spending bill, Build Back Better. In a press release, Joe Biden said that they need to break up the bill to get something passed.

We also heard from key objection holder Joe Manchin who said that there are pieces of Build Back Better that have wide support, including priorities on Climate.

Although this does not mean a bill is passed or guaranteed, it appears that Congress is focused to bring back some of the social spending priorities that were targeted nearly all of 2021. This renewed focus could yield some slimed down version of Build Back Better, that apparently may include the EV tax credits that so many were rooting for.

Only time will tell, and we will be keeping a close eye on the outcome of this renewed effort as it pertains to EV's. Starting from a clean slate may mean new rules that we will have to dissect to really understand what vehicles may qualify for new EV tax credits.
