Taking a look at the story of the Dodge Hornet concept car from 2006. This was a small hatchback with aggressive styling and a supercharged four-cylinder engine. During this time, Dodge was looking to expand and enter the European market, and gain momentum in the compact car segment that was growing in the United States. To enter Europe and truly compete there, they needed a B-Segment model with good fuel economy and the ability to manoeuvre tight European streets. That led to the creation of the Hornet, with plans for production by 2010. Unfortunately, it was cancelled for several reasons, like the automotive recession and the Chrysler bankruptcy. Years later, we may see the return of the Hornet as an electric vehicle in 2023. Watch along for all the details!
