This technique video demonstrates three methods for creating make one increases, each of which is known by other names: raised increase; YO M1 increase; and the half-hitch or EZ's M1 inc. Comparisons are made between the same increase, but using different knitting styles and knitting needles, and between the different increases, but using the same needles each time.

Needles used in video demonstration: The red needles are the discontinued Signature Needle Arts needles with stiletto tips. I have no idea what brand the bamboo needles are.
Yarn used in video demonstration: Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun worsted weight wool.

The sweater I'm wearing was made from Paton's Classic Wool. It was self-designed. There is no pattern.
