In this video I explain how to install the end caps on a gutter.
You will need your gutter, a right and left end cap, exterior grade caulk or gutter sealant, and a sheetmetal crimper tool. The one I purchased: LENOX Tools Snap Lock Punch (22212SL1).
Step 1 - Cut gutter to size and clean up ends. You can use sheet metal shears, a hacksaw, or a cutoff wheel on a rotary tool or angle grinder. If there are burs after cutting you can use a metal file to remove them. Using alcohol on the gutter ends and end caps will ensure a clean surface for your caulk to adhere.
Step 2 - Lay bead of caulk in the (3) end cap channels.
Step 3 - Press end cap onto gutter and crimp in at least two spots on each side. I am using a 4" steel gutter for this project but if your gutter is larger it may need three crimps on each side.
Step 4 - Apply caulk to the inside seam of your gutter to completely seal up the ends. Clean everything up and you're done!
This gutter will actually be a small planter for my kids fort and I will post a follow up video of the install.
Thanks for watching and let me know in the comments how your project went!
