It's true and maybe am here today because of it. There was a time when a safety belt seemed a burden and the government had to create informational films like this one to get people to put on safety belts. At first it wasn't a law but a choice. When the films like this one that showed horrible car crashes with dummies all wired up falling apart, seriously injured, severe accidents, life changing results, I put on my safety belt. And I have worn one ever since. If you are young probably you don't know a time without a safety belt. It's what your parents did when you were a kid – put one on you.

We believed the government and we believed the scientists who appeared in these videos for the most part. My wife was a rebel and refused to wear a safety belt for a while even when it was illegal not to wear one.

Now what about the pandemic and vaccines? Our government said taking a vaccine would make you safer and they had some the statistics to back it up. I believed them but a surprising number of my fellow citizens did not. I'm not sure why. And some of my fellow citizens felt that this was a plot and I don't know really why they felt that way either.

I have made documentaries involved with government safety people, especially at the NIH. What I found were dedicated public servants who cared about public health and safety and weren't very political. So I tend to trust the government but I know that some of you watching this video will not.

My question, asked in this video is, would you listen to this video and put on a safety belt if this was shown to you?
