Along with many exciting merchandise collaborations, a brand new theme park and of course a fresh compilation of his three oldest 3D platformers on the Nintendo Switch, fans were also teased with a new remix of Mario’s most famous adventure as he finally succumbed to the latest trend in gaming, the battle royale.
Developed by Arika and published by Nintendo, Super Mario Bros. 35 was advertised as a new adventure that kept the original's gameplay and charm, while boasting a last-man-standing mechanic that would pit 35 players against one another while running, stomping and of course jumping their way to victory.
And on October 1, 2020 the game was released for members of Nintendo Switch Online as a free download to mixed reviews from industry veterans, but only for a limited time...
