Angel Reese passion for LSU burns strong: WNBA star hails NFL Draft picks

Angel Reese proved she is LSU for life after sending her congratulations to her fellow graduates who were picked in the NFL Draft on Thursday and Friday.

The 21-year-old recently made her own step into life as a professional athlete, securing a lucrative contract with WNBA franchise Chicago Sky

Like many players, the self-proclaimed 'Chi Barbie' holds a close bond with her alma mater, LSU, as it that helped launched her careers. And even after she left the university, she showed her support for those declared for the NFL Draft.

Three LSU Tigers players were selected in the first round - quarterback Jayden Daniels, wide receiver Malik Nabers and wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr - as they joined the Washington Commanders,New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars respectively.

Only two other teams had as many players drafted as them and no college had more. Naturally, Reese reacted with delight as the Tigers proved themselves as a trusted production line for NFL stars.

The 6ft 3in forward finished the season with 76 assists, 62 steals and 32 blocks and deservedly won the SEC Player of the Year award in 2024. Like her fellow LSU alums in the NFL, she is set to have a bright future in professional women's basketball.

The 21-year-old was the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and signed a contract worth $325,000 with Chicago Sky, marking the start of her professional basketball career.
