In August 2021, Indonesian singer-songwriter NIKI dropped her viral feel-good single “Every Summertime.” The song was one of four tracks NIKI contributed to the blockbuster Marvel installment Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. NIKI, who co-wrote and co-produced “Every Summertime” with her boyfriend Jacob Ray, says she was “listening to a lot of Barry White” when they cooked up the soulful track. The song has since racked up over 50 million Spotify streams.
