We took some wine made from molasses and ran it through an air still to end up with some rum / brandy type of alcohol it turned out okay but we should have cut it at about half a pint. Going forward i will proof up whatever i run to have a higher ABV I think by adding a higher proof alcohol to your mash or whatever you run will help maximize the output of alcohol.
