Being a backup quarterback in the NFL isn’t so bad. You make six or seven figures a year to basically hold a clipboard. And if you have to fill in for the starter, nobody really expects you to do much of anything. No pressure.

But some NFL quarterbacks became memorable or even legendary after going from benchwarmer to starter. I’m DMike Cantalupo, and today we present the 10 best performances from a backup Quarterback!

SIDE NOTE: For this list, we didn’t include guys like Kurt Warner in 1999 or Tom Brady in 2001, who became full-time starters through the season. We are basing our list off of backups who ONLY filled in for a very brief time during one specific season.
