If you have a smart TV, you may be able to connect your Android to your TV wirelessly. This will depend on what type of smart TV you have and what capabilities it offers. Some apps will allow casting or mirroring of media from your smartphone to your TV. For example, if you have the YouTube app on both your phone and your smart TV, you can tap the cast icon and then select your smart TV from the list of devices to send the video you’re watching to your tv screen. If your TV doesn’t offer something like this natively, you may still be able to achieve this using a Roku, Fire TV stick, Chromecast, or something similar. If you have the matching apps on both your Android and your TV or streaming device, look for the cast icon on your Android to send the media to your tv screen.

If you aren’t able to connect your Android to your TV wirelessly, you can try purchasing an HDMI adapter that is compatible with your smartphone. This may look slightly different depending on what type of Android you have, but one end will connect to your phone and the other to the back of your TV. Typically this will be a USB-C to HDMI cord, but make sure to get one that is compatible with your specific smartphone’s charging port. To set this up, you would simply plug in the cord between the devices, and switch your TV’s input source to the HDMI port you plugged your Android into. The upside of using the wired method is that you aren’t limited to specific apps, and can show your entire Android screen and any app you want to have projected on your TV screen, and you won’t have to deal with any potential lagging issues that wireless connection can sometimes have.
