Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged for the first time that "radical Islamists" were behind the deadly concert hall attack outside Moscow. Putin however, maintained claims that Ukraine was somehow involved in the attack, highlighting how the US has been defending Kyiv. Putin said it is necessary to answer “why after committing the crime the terrorists tried to go to Ukraine? Who was waiting for them there?" Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky derided Putin's comments, saying “when he is gone, the need for terror and violence will disappear with him”. Zelensky lashed out saying "everyone is a terrorist, except himself, though he has been thriving on terror for two decades”
