I'm still doing that Texas Two Step - you know, two steps forward, one step back. I've determined that the steering gear itself must be defective. One of my subscribers here, Jeff Smith, reminded me he had had this same issue on two of his early 60s Lincolns and described how the sector shaft had a flat spot on it that caused exactly the same symptoms I'm experiencing. Since I've replaced everything else, this is the only thing left. Adjusting the sector shaft had no affect on this issue. My second windshield washer reservoir bag leaks too! Maybe I need to try a different source. So, I will soon be removing the steering gear and should have the replacement in about a week from Mark II Enterprises.
