this is a very old, unfinished animatic about a mao mao au i made back when i was still interested in the show. it was called the "sheriff adora" au, and the basic concept was- (spoilers for the animatic)

that mao mao dies and adorabat, now around 16, has to take his place.
that was pretty much the whole idea. this was very old and was based on the, at the time, very few episodes.

i didn't post it because i thought it would be out of character for my channel (which is a stupid reason. it's my channel, i can post whatever i want, but brain says no sometimes.) i also felt as though the scene where mao mao is killed was oversold. i wanted it to be morbid and horrible to sell adora's loss of innocence in that scene, but imma be real. i clearly had way too much fun with the blood. there is no way that much blood should come out of such a little man.
i did end up making a version of this where the blood is removed entirely, (i was slightly afraid that kids were going to watch it bc this is very much a show for children) but it was never rendered and the version of Vegas this was made in has since been eating the quality of all my videos.

i originally intended to do the entire song. the rest of the story would've been Adorabat overcoming their grief and rising to their position as the new sheriff, and eventually trying to take revenge on Orangusnake. there was some stuff with Mao's spirit having been attached to the pure heart in some way, and being able to appear momentarily to Adora through it to stop her from exacting revenge. it was very cool and very sweet, trust me.

Also Adora in this AU is nonbinary because I said so. and because the creator of Mao Mao also said so. lol.
