The Volkswagen Touareg is the flagship luxury SUV within the German brand's lineup. In this CarGurus UK video, Chris Knapman tests the recently facelifted Touareg R plug-in hybrid to see if it's worthy of consideration alongside rivals such as the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7.

With an electric-only range of up to 30 miles and a 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds, the Touareg R certainly has some on-paper appeal, but is it worth the extra money over a standard V6 model?
