Cologne. Clear the stage for the new Volvo EM90: With the first fully electric van, the Swedish premium car manufacturer is bringing its expertise and experience to a new vehicle class. The six-seat MPV combines iconic Scandinavian design and pioneering safety with the highest level of comfort and modern technology. As a rolling office and living room, it offers inmates time and space to socialize, think or relax.

The striking front end of the new Volvo EM90 is inspired by skyscrapers and modern, stirring art. Framed by headlights in the brand’s typical “Thor’s Hammer” design, the radiator grille and the integrated Volvo logo are illuminated – a first for the brand. The result is a confident look characterized by high-tech and craftsmanship precision.

Large screens, powerful processors:
The Volvo EM90 is well connected: In addition to 5G connectivity, where available, the van features the Snapdragon cockpit platforms from Qualcomm Technologies and its high computing power. Many vehicle functions can also be controlled via a voice assistant, which is visualized by an avatar inspired by the nature of Scandinavia on the 15.4-inch infotainment screen.

There is also a high-resolution 15.6-inch screen mounted in the roof: whether it's video streaming for the kids or a digital business conference, the passengers in the rear can see everything in view. The screen also supports mobile display projection and a variety of third-party apps.

At the touch of a button or voice command, the Volvo EM90 transforms into a theater, conference room or bedroom. In addition to the screens, seats, windows, air conditioning and lighting are also adjusted accordingly. The high-fidelity audio system from Bowers & Wilkins with 3D sound and 21 speakers creates an ambience like in a concert hall.

Long range and bi-directional charging:
The Volvo EM90 drives with a 200 kW (272 hp) electric motor. This means that the sprint from zero to 100 km/h can be achieved in 8.3 seconds. Combined with a 116 kWh high-voltage battery, ranges of up to 738 kilometers (according to the CLTC test cycle) are possible. Charging from ten to 80 percent takes less than 30 minutes on compatible columns.

After the large electric SUV Volvo EX90, the Volvo EM90 also enables bi-directional charging: Thanks to the appropriate hardware, the premium van is transformed into a rolling energy storage device that can charge other electric cars and external consumers such as e-bikes, camping refrigerators and the like when necessary supplied with energy.

The first-class sound insulation and noise suppression of road noise ensure a high level of comfort on the go. In combination with the electric drive, a two-chamber air suspension and the low-noise tires, the Volvo EM90 glides comfortably and almost silently through traffic.
