UAV Aerial Drone Visions: The Night Lights of Pal Springs, California.

My name is Gerald Peplow. I am a FAA Part 107 certified UAV pilot. This video is from my series, "UAV Aerial Drone Visions". I currently fly a registered DJI Mini 2 and Mini 3. I also have a Mavic 3! This mission I flew my Mavic 3, "Da Niao." Rebecca Peplow is my Visual Observer.

I just recently bought a DJI Mavic 3 named Da Niao. "Big Bird". I heard it was a great aircraft but WOW! Flies like a stick of butter...smooth! Responsive and reliable! The camera ia amazing. In fact I have a problem that too much data is in the picture so I need to thin it down so I can post it on Adobe Stock. This was my first night flight.

So cool! The FAA Requires a Strobe Light that can be seen for 3 miles. I have 2 of them. I put one on top and the other is Velcroed to the battery giving me a rear light that does not affect the images. The FAA also requires Visual Line of Sight. You must be able to see your UAV. I went over 1000 feet away at 300 Feet High. It was easy to watch for other aircraft because they to must have strobes. I was amazed at how crisp the night images are. It even has a landing light that automatically lights the landing area. I opened a new can of fun worms! Time to get out there again!
