The all-new redesigned 2022 Subaru WRX is the uncommon sportscar powered by some of the most advanced automotive technologies in the world, including Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD (for uncontested control) and a new turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine (for increased response). Built on the Subaru Global Platform for the first time, the new WRX is also stronger with a chassis more resistant to twisting forces, so it’s more stable and sharper handling than ever. Long story short, this is the WRX you know, now taken to exciting new levels of performance.

Exclusive to the WRX, the new Subaru Performance Transmission (SPT) is paired with a variable torque distribution (VTD) AWD system that sends slightly more power to the back wheels, creating a sporty driving feel. The transmission also features a new shift lever, an 8-step manual mode, paddle shifters and automatic throttle blipping for quicker downshifts. Linked to the driver-selectable SI-DRIVE engine management system for increased control and featuring an air-cooled transmission oil cooler, the SPT delivers superior performance and incredible efficiency, all in one.
