Though Rivian's R1T and Hummer's EV were the first all-electric pickups on the market, Ford's F-150 Lightning will likely prove a more significant product. With a starting price as low as $41K in Pro trim and a bevy of useful features like intelligent backup power, the Lightning is an attainable EV truck that intends to change consumer driving habits.

A standard range battery provides 230 miles of range and 452 horsepower, while an extended range version boasts 320 miles of range and 580 horsepower. Both variants generate 775 lb-ft of torque. Longer range Lightnings are quite the bump in price (the cheapest Pro/extended range is about $55K), but with the extra power and range comes greater towing capacity (up to 10,000 lbs), a generator function to power your home for up to 10 days in the event of a blackout, and 9.2 kW of on-board power to run tools and camping gear. All this is bundled into a conventional full-size truck body with a familiar layout inside and out.
