Maria took 2nd place in our film scoring contest #EndlichAllein, which I organized together with    / martinheidenreichmusic   in March/April 2024. We talk about her work as a concert violinist and composing in general, but also specifically about her idea behind her score for #EndlichAllein and a few surprising other things...

About Maria's background:
Maria Lazareva started learning music and playing the violin when she was 6 years old. She graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky conservatory and got her Master’s degree in the Karlruhe’s University of Music.
Her first recital as a soloist was at the age of 11. Maria performs regularly as a soloist with ensembles and orchestras at various concert venues in her country and abroad (England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and others). She has been the constant soloist of chamber ensemble “Eccellente”. Maria’s repertoire spans from baroque music to the pieces of modern composers. Six violin albums by Maria Lazareva are available on main digital platforms.
Maria has always enjoyed composing music. Her compositions and arrangements were used in several video-games, short movies, shows and tv programs (Tv shows: Crufts, Grand Prix Junior Ice Dance. Games: Battle Hearts, Infinity Run 3D. Movies: La Schermo Di Nebbia and others.). She worked as a music teacher in the Ippolitov-Ivanov Institute (2011 - 2013) and the Anglo-American School of Moscow (2011 - 2023). From 2023 she is a leader of an instrumental rock-band. Maria Lazareva is a prize-winner of several violin and composing competitions. (Violin competitions - Luigi Zanuccoli competition, Shostakovich chamber music competition. Composing competitions - ‘Made with Musio’ composing contest, Sonuscore Composer of the Year Award, Ryan Leach competition and others.)
