Things that have changed:
The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve both now have 1.5x for redemption for travel.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has a higher signing up bonus of 60,000 where the Chase Sapphire Reserve has a signing up bonus of 50,000 points. You could always get the Preferred first, hit the requirement, and then switch to the Reserve. That's what I would do.
