Cheez It crackers are one of my favorite snacks and these homemade ones taste even better than the store bought. And you can feel good about them because they don't contain all the extra additives found in the kind from the store.
Homemade Cheez Its
1 (8 oz.) block sharp cheddar cheese
4 Tbsp softened butter
1 cup flour
2 to 4 Tbsp water
pinch of salt
Instructions
Grate the cheese and place in a large bowl. Mix in butter and then flour and salt. Mixture will be dry. Add water a tablespoon at a time until a dough is formed. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out as thin as possible. Cut into 1 inch squares. Place on baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush crackers with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly golden. Cool completely.
