I searched for a replacement remote for the Maytag (Fedders) M6X08F2A-C 8,000 BTU air conditioner, expecting to find nothing more than a few stray used units on the eRipOff. Instead, I discovered that there are multiple aftermarket replacement remotes available from a variety of retailers.

While I don't think I'll buy one as it's not worth the $20 to me, it is very much worth noting as these units speak volumes about the machines. If the machines were not well liked, didn't last very long and didn't work well, there would be no demand for such a product. There must be a good number of these machines still in service for replacement parts to still be available decades later in the Summer of 2024.

The remote that seems to go to my machine is part number 112150010001. The remote 112150010006, which goes to multiple models from the same era, seems vastly more common with plenty used ones available. I was only able to find one picture of the original 112150010001 remote, which had the absurd model number of HA-HA-06-02 written on the bottom.
