김포공항은 서울시 강서구 하늘길 112(공항동)에 위치해 있다. 1939년 당시 경기도 김포군 양서면 방화리에 일본군이활주로를 건설하면서 시작된 공항의 역사는 이 후 미공군이 사용하면서민간 항공기 운항이 허용되었고, 1954년부터우리 나라도 일부를 사용할 수 있게 되었다.그 후 1958년이 되어서야 대통령령으로 김포국제공항으로 지정되면서 1971년본격적으로 공항의 모습을 갖추기 시작했다. 국내 공항의 맏형으로 그 자리를 굳건히 지켜온 김포공항은 현재 공항 뿐 아니라‘스카이시티’라는 복합문화, 레저, 쇼핑 공간으로 공항 이용객들에게 또 다른 즐거움을선사하고 있다.
