U.S. Army Paratroopers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade with soldiers from Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (C/1-57 ADAR), Croatian Army and Polish conduct air defense systems ... including man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS Piorun), FIM-92 Stinger and Transportable lightweight anti-air missile (Mistral) ... against low and medium-altitude targets during Exercise Shield 24 (ES24) in Pula, Croatia.

ES24 involves units from the 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Croatian Air Defense Regiment, Polish Armed Forces, Slovenian Army, and French Armed Forces come together for joint training on air defense tactics, techniques, and procedures, including air-space control and live fire engagements.
