Decorator crabs "decorate" themselves with their surroundings for camouflage! They will take pieces of algae, sponges, leaves, or even small living animals like anemones, and fasten them to curved bristles on the back of their shell. These hooked bristles act almost like Velcro, allowing the crab to take off old pieces and put on new ones.
