The Mercedes Benz GLS 580 is a large and luxurious SUV for sure, but is it large enough to command such a premium over the (much bigger) American establishment? A buyer can get more for his or her money from all three American brands, and at a certain point, you have to look at how much vehicle your money is purchasing -- since that's kind of the whole point of SUVs.
