This is a 2012 Toyota Prius. I am cleaning the HV (high voltage) battery fan. This preventive maintenance is to prevent your HV battery from overheating. Over time, the fan can accumulate dirt and dust from the passenger compartment and clogs up the fins. Once that happens, it'll cause the fan to not work sufficiently to cool down the battery and thus will cause a check engine light P0A82. By doing this preventive maintenance, you will prevent the Hybrid battery from overheating. I would recommend doing this every 60k miles if you have shedding pets that sits in the back.

To clear the error code on the dashboard, disconnect the 12 volt battery on the passenger rear trunk and reconnect it.
