The classic French toast recipe is very easy to make. When making French toast, I usually go all out and use either thick slices of Challah or Brioche breads, which need extra soaking time & to be finished in the oven. I usually add fresh fruit & make it a big production. Today, it’s a quick breakfast for Father’s Day, before the real celebration begins.

2 large eggs
1 cup milk or half and half
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp sugar*
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
8 slices bread
Butter

Notes: *Can use white, brown or raw sugar, or even honey, maple syrup or other sweetener
