90 miles from the northwest Las Vegas.
All roads in the refuge are unpaved dirt roads, but they are maintained for regular vehicles and motorcycles according to their website.
We were there at the end of January, and it was cold and windy.
The best time to visit is probably Spring/Fall.
Make sure to check the weather before you go! 🌡🔥

✨ Junior Refuge Ranger Program at Wildlife Refuges in Southern Nevada
There are four Wildlife Refuges in Southern Nevada, and each one has a unique junior ranger pin.
Once kids completed their junior ranger booklets, they received a junior ranger badge (same for all four locations) and a pin for the location.
Once you collect all four of them, you get to earn a Junior Refuge Ranger patch!
