of course, being the swiftie i am, thinking of the new year reminds me of this song on taylor swift's Reputation album. i love the melancholy spin swift adds to the holidays, reminiscing a time spent with someone during new years who has now moved on, wishing that their relationship didn't regress to becoming only strangers with memories attached. the lyric "please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh i could recognize anywhere" gets me every time, but it's the epitome of the thoughts that run through your head when you want to mend a broken relationship that's gone for good. i hope you enjoy my rendition, feedback is always appreciated!
