Runa is one of the most impressive upcoming open-world Anime games I've seen recently. And before we jump in - no, this is not a Gacha game. This does not have any cross-platform functionality with mobile devices at all, rather, it's a PC-console game. Don't worry, papa Stix has gotchu.
The reason I'm so excited for it is due to the fact that they were fully funded on Kickstarter in a mere 18 hours, doubling their goal within 48 hours, and are still increasing hour after hour. People are evidently happy with what they see - and what's not to like. This is essentially an indie Xenoblade Chronicles, and I'm here for it.
"Runa is an adventure game inspired by modern and classic JRPGs," - which are my kinda games. Breath of Fire, Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden, Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud - "with a turn-based battle system," that sounds fantastic to me.
"social links and a story-rich science fantasy world. Promising to keep intact what makes classic JRPG games fun, Runa also features elemental puzzles and base building, as well as minigames like farming, fishing, and cooking."
You can explore an enormous open world, filled with all types of environments, engage in fast-paced turn-based combat, work on your relationship with other characters and even romance some of them, solve puzzles, build and manage your base, navigate skill trees.

We're gonna go through all of this, and more, after we take a look at their trailer, which is about a minute and a half long. That'll give us the best gauge of what we can expect - a visual representation of what their goal is. Although it's worth noting that much of what we see is likely to change after they receive the no doubt hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding.
