Less than three kilometres west of Auckland's Britomart railway station, you can find an ex-Melbourne 'X1' class tram running on a short loop line Wynyard Quarter. This service is the Auckland Dockline Tram, and it's been running on-and-off since its opening in 2011.

These days, the tram only runs on Sundays, but the service has been living on borrowed time for a couple of years now. This is because some developers want to build apartments (or 'flats', as us Kiwis often call them) on the site currently occupied by the tram shed. When the line eventually shuts down, the trams themselves will be transferred to MOTAT over in Western Springs.
