ESA astronaut candidates Sophie Adenot has received astronaut certification, along with four others at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre on 22 April 2024. This  marks her transition into fully-fledged astronauts, ready and eligible for spaceflight.

She is the second French woman to have qualified as an astronaut.

The  new astronauts will move on to the next phases of pre-assignment and mission-specific training, paving the way for future missions to the International Space Station and beyond.
