In this lesson we take a look at to concept of fever in our patient in the ICU. Fever is a non-specific response to some infectious, inflammatory, or neurologic issue going on. I talk about what exactly it is as well as the limits at which we consider a temperature a fever as well as a quick review of the pathophysiology of it. From there we go down the rabbit hole of discussing whether it has any benefit for our patient as well as some of the studies talking about the efficacy of treating a fever. Finally we quickly review over our ways of evaluating and managing the patient with a fever.
