Hello everyone! This is a little bit of a different video, I don't normally make videos like this, but I've been working on this project for months (since my birthday in 2020 to be exact). I decided to make my own logo history video on Universal Television (and its several divisions and name changes proceeding the current incarnation) because I felt like many of the other videos on YouTube were either outdated or had fake logos randomly thrown in there, which irritated me a little bit. My main goal was to make the most accurate and high quality logo history video of Universal Television that you can get (also keep in mind that some of these variants were really hard to find, so not every logo capture is going to have the best quality.)

I took a little bit of a different approach for this logo history video because I decided to separate it into seven sections. I included Revue Studios (which is Section 1) since it was the predecessor to Universal Television. I also decided to include MCA TV and MTE (MCA Television Entertainment) since Universal Television and MTE were divisions of MCA TV before MCA was reincorporated as Universal Studios in 1996. If MTE's full name confuses you, I'm here to clarify that they were a production company that helped produced independent TV shows and TV movies, whereas MCA TV was exclusively just a distribution company for certain programs. I also included NBC Universal Television Studio and Universal Media Studios, since those were the predecessors of what became the current Universal Television. The reason why I only decided to cover NBC Universal Television Studio (NBCUniversal Television's short-lived production division, which ended up being renamed to Universal Media Studios in 2007) rather than just NBCUniversal Television as a whole is because if I also covered NBCUniversal Television Distribution or NBCUniversal Syndication Studios (which are basically the same thing), we would be here all day.

A couple other things that I want to point out: I got a lot of my information from the CLG Wiki, and on their page about Universal Television, it's actually split up into two different sections, Universal Studios and Universal Television, which indicates that at some point Universal's television division changed its name, which actually never made sense to me since I've always just considered the company as Universal Television. There are two logos in the Universal Studios section of the article, the 2nd logo (which says it was used from February 1964-1969) and the 4th logo (which says it was used from September 1970-April 1971). From the pictures that they used for those logos, they look very similar to me (if not the exact same), and because of this, I decided to just put them together as one logo, which is why the date for Logo #2 says (1964-1971) instead of (1964-1969). Also, in regards to the final logo in the video (the current Universal Television logo that's been in use since 2011), I included an unused prototype variant that says "Universal NBC Television", which a lot of you guys will probably say is fake; honestly, I feel like it looks pretty legit. Maybe at some point they were thinking about referring to the division as "Universal NBC Television", but then reverted back to the Universal Television name because they probably didn't want people to confuse it with NBCUniversal Television.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about this video. If you read all of this, then I seriously respect you. I hope you guys enjoy this video because this took me a really long time to make, especially with how laggy my laptop has been acting lately. This is MrDIRECTOREIGHT signing out!
